The Turkish Studies MA program at Sabancı University is the first interdisciplinary graduate program in Turkey with English language instruction. Its primary purpose is to meet the growing international demand for knowledge about Turkish culture, language, history, politics, and economy. With a highly flexible curriculum which capitalizes on the intellectual and scholarly resources available at one of Turkey's leading private universities, the Turkish Studies MA program offers students a broad range of courses in History, Political Science, Economics, and Cultural Studies. In addition, the curriculum also seeks to meet the needs of those international students who wish to learn Turkish language or improve their existing command of the Turkish language.

There are several possibilities concerning the career prospects of students enrolled in the new graduate degree program in Turkish Studies. Graduates of the program will be competitive candidates for Ph.D. programs in various fields of the Humanities and the Social Sciences. The MA degree in Turkish Studies will also enhance the career prospects of students for positions in the public sector (diplomatic service and various bureaucratic careers), the private sector (international business, media, tourism, etc.), and the international non-governmental organizations (NGO's).
