Important Note for International Students
Applications for major declarations or program changes that involve a different type of admission score than the one originally used for university enrollment are considered within the scope of transfer procedures, in accordance with the regulations of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
In accordance with the relevant YÖK regulations and decisions:
- International students must meet the admission criteria applicable to the target program group for the year of their initial enrollment. However, students who were admitted based solely on their high school GPA are excluded from internal transfer regulations and therefore are not eligible to apply for a diploma program with a different admission score type or to transfer to another program.
- Students who are in their fifth semester or later and who apply to declare or change a diploma program involving a different admission score type will have their applications evaluated under the provisions of Additional Article 1 (EK Madde-1) concerning horizontal transfers. Since international students do not have a central placement score (ÖSYM score), it is not possible for them to declare or transfer to a diploma program with a different admission score type.
