This course introduces students to be study of men as gendered social beings and masculinities as learnt, reproduced or challenged performances. Topics include an interdisciplinary examination of social and personal meanings of masculinity; variety of male experience by social class, race, sexuality, and age; emerging as boys/men;and public discourses and representations about changing masculinities.
