This course is a continuation of JAP 101 and aims to help students develop the language and skills required for effective communication at the Basic level and raises their awareness of processes involved in learning to communicate. At the end of the course, each student is expected to present a topic of his/her interest. In addition to the 45-syllable Hiragana alphabet studied in JAP101, students will learn to read and write the 45-syllable Katakana Alphabet used for foreign words. They will also be introduced to the Kanji picture alphabet of 2000 characters.
