Graduate Scholarships

Sabancı University’s "Distinguished Science and Technology Scholarship" is a scholarship awarded to exceptionally successful students, who apply to or have passed the qualification stage in the PhD programs of the Graduate School of Engineering and Natural Sciences.

PhD candidates with exceptional credentials may be eligible for Distinguished Science & Technology Scholarships based on a separate evaluation by the scholarship committee. Selected scholarship recipients will be offered the opportunity for co-supervision by the leading scientists in prominent universities and institutions worldwide, and joint PhD degrees whenever possible.

These are scholarships provided by research grants received from TÜBİTAK, , Industry, NGO’s, etc. For students who are fully supported by research grants, the monthly stipends provided by the project are subsidized by different mechanisms as described below.

TÜBİTAK Research Projects (including 2244-Industry PhD Program) Stipends: 

47.850 TL/month for MA/MS; 74.250 TL/month for PhD; 82.500 TL/month for PhD-after qualifying exams. In case the monthly stipend provided by TÜBİTAK is less than these figures, difference is covered by Sabancı University.

Stipends for, Industry, NGO and other external projects: 

Minimum 47.850 TL/month for MA/MS; minimum 74.250 TL/month for PhD; minimum 82.500 TL/month for PhD-after qualifying exams.

Graduate students may be admitted with a scholarship that provides full or partial exemption from the annual tuition fee. The following benefits are provided under the tuition waiver support.

Sabancı University encourages students to apply to the 2210 - National Graduate Scholarship Program or 2211 - National Doctorate Scholarship Program, which is run by TÜBİTAK-BİDEB. In addition to the scholarship provided by BİDEB, Sabancı University provides the following opportunities to students admitted to its graduate programs.

The Işık İnselbağ Scholarship is offered by the Graduate School of Business within the scope of the "Işık İnselbağ Finance Chair."

The İsmail Serhat Oğuz Scholarship is offered by the Graduate School of Social Sciences in memory of İsmail Serhat Oğuz, our 2019 Economics undergraduate and Mathematics minor graduate, and Economics master's student, who passed away on March 16, 2021.

The Fuat Keyman Scholarship is offered by the Graduate School of Social Sciences within the scope of the "Fuat Keyman Chair"
