We Are Meeting At Sakura Festival



As part of the Sakura Festival organized by Sabancı University, which broke new ground in the centenary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Japan, guests will have the chance to watch the flowers of over 1000 Sakura trees on the campus and celebrate this beauty by coming together.

In the daytime program of the Sakura Festival, which will last all day, visitors will have a pleasant time with the performance of DJ Salam, as well as the concerts of traditional bands from Japan, Kufuki and Heart Sutra. Throughout the day, origami, ikebanachadosushi and scent workshops, as well as kendo shows and traditional tea ceremonies, will take place. The festival will also screen the film "The Boy and The Heron", with which the great master Hayao Miyazaki made his magnificent return to cinema after ten years.


At the gala event in the evening program of this special festival, Sakura trees, symbolizing the rebirth in Japanese culture, will bring the two communities together and will be hope for successful young people in need of financial support studying at Sabancı University.


At the "Sakura Festival Gala Event"Cem Adrian, one of the most important voices of the new generation, songwriter and composer, will meet the audience after a very special performance by the traditional Japanese band "WE League", bearing the traces of traditional Japanese culture. All proceeds from the ticket sales of the "Sakura Festival Gala Event", which will take place through Biletix, will be transferred to Sabancı University's "Make a Promise for the Future" scholarship program.

All guests are requested to fill out the registration form HERE to participate in the festival. Our security personnel will verify information at the entrance to the campus and guests who do not fill out the participation form will not be able to enter the campus.
