The concept of contemporary is often confused with the modern. This course aims to make the necessary differentiation and take contemporary as an issue in conjunction with the current political, social and cultural developments and as a transgression of the modernist approaches. In this framework, the course will analyse concepts such as gender, sexuality, racism, globalization and space via an artistic perspective and extensive reading of social theory.
