Position Overview
The Mechatronics Engineering Program at Sabancı University, İstanbul, Türkiye, invites applications for a full-time faculty position at all ranks in the areas of mechatronics to expand our capabilities in electronic systems, mechanical systems, computing, and control. The faculty position will commence in the 2026-2027 academic year. Priority will be given to applicants with expertise in embedded systems, power electronic systems, and robotics & artificial intelligence. In particular, we encourage scholars with strong academic credentials and hands-on experience with modern tools and techniques.
The Mechatronics Engineering Program offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. Our B.S. program has been accredited by MUDEK, part of the International Engineering Alliance - Washington Accord. The Mechatronics Engineering Program at Sabancı University has been ranked among the top Mechatronics programs in Türkiye by THE ranking system. Key Responsibilities
Teaching: The candidate is expected to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels (expected load is 3 courses/year) and supervise student projects and graduate theses.
Research: The candidate is expected to establish and execute an independent research program at Sabancı University, as well as receive external funding at both national and international levels. The candidate will have a primary affiliation with the Mechatronics Program and will be encouraged to conduct collaborative research with other programs in FENS as well.
Service: The candidate is expected to actively work in the committees to help improve the academic and administrative processes of the faculty and the university.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in mechatronics, electrical/electronics, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field is required by the time of appointment.
- Strong research background as demonstrated by a publication record in high-quality journals in the field.
- For candidates at the Assistant Professor level, post-doctoral research experience is required.
