Sustainability

The Minor Program in Sustainability reflects Sabancı University’s interdisciplinary educational vision and aims to develop a holistic understanding of the interconnections between the environment, engineering, society, economy, and management. It is designed for students who wish to understand critical global challenges such as climate change, social inequalities, energy transition, sustainable supply chains, and the circular economy—and gain the skills necessary to develop solutions in these fields.

Sustainability today is not only a concern of environmental sciences but is also central to the business world, public policy, and broader societal transformation efforts. Therefore, the program brings together multiple perspectives, ranging from engineering and social sciences to business and governance. Students will gain the capacity to integrate sustainability into their primary disciplines and take leadership roles in this area.

This program is open to all undergraduate students who are interested in sustainability. Some may be future engineers seeking solutions to environmental problems; others may be social scientists focused on social justice or aspiring managers aiming to develop sustainable business models. Regardless of discipline, any student who values sustainability and seeks to gain expertise in this area is welcome to join the program.
