Special Seminar by Sabancı University & TICA: "Reconfigurable Computing for Software Programmers?"

We are honored to host Prof. Dr. Paolo Ienne from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), who will deliver a special talk on the advancements in computer architecture and reconfigurable computing! 

Intel's acquisition of Altera and AMD's acquisition of Xilinx underscored the promise of Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) alongside CPUs and GPUs. Yet making that promise accessible to software programmers remains a fundamental challenge. 

In this seminar, Prof. Dr. Paolo Ienne will discuss how dynamically scheduled high-level synthesis (HLS) translates sequential C/C++ code into dataflow circuits, explicit task parallelism in hardware, and the obstacles that still stand between reconfigurable computing and broader adoption.
