Updated Environmental and OHS Policies

 

In accordance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, the "Environment" and "Occupational Health and Safety" Policy texts of our University have been updated.

 

Sabancı University Environmental Policy

Our commitments to increase our environmental management system performance by collaborating with our stakeholders in line with the "nature focus" principle and net zero philosophy in all activities carried out by Sabancı University are the following:

  • Continuously improve the Environmental Management System (EMS) performance by following technological developments and innovations,
  • Prevent waste generation, reduce waste, increase reuse and recycling with the zero-waste principle,
  • Combat the climate crisis and carry out activities to contribute to the transition to a low carbon economy,
  • Reduce the carbon footprint by increasing the use of renewable energy resources and energy efficiency studies,
  • Ensure the protection of ecosystems and natural habitats of living things, preserve biological diversity and manage resources sustainably
  • Ensure that awareness is increased and individual responsibility is adopted,
  • Comply with national and international legal regulations and other obligations regarding the environment and act in line with the expectations of relevant parties.

Sabancı University Occupational Health and Safety Policy

Sabancı University cooperates with its stakeholders in order to achieve the goals and objectives determined in accordance with the "human focus" principle, strategic direction and vision in all its activities, and adopts and is committed to the implementation of the following as a policy; 

  • Providing a healthy and safe working environment,
  • Setting and monitoring targets to eliminate hazards and reduce risks,
  • Continuously improving performance by following technological developments and innovations,
  • Obtaining the opinions of all employees and ensuring their engagement,
  • Increasing awareness and providing individual responsibility,
  • Proactively managing occupational health and safety risks in order to comply with all relevant legal legislation and other applicable standards.
