OPIM 614 Supply Chain Planning and Management Models 3 Credits
This course introduces the concepts and models for effective management of supply chains. Students are challenged to go beyond organizational boundaries and consider interactions between various players over the supply chain towards developing coordinated strategies. Mathematical models/tools/techniques for supply chain management are introduced with emphasis on key tradeoffs and objectives. Topics covered include supply chain dynamics (bullwhip effect), supply chain design (flexibility, postponement), supply chain planning (location and distribution), and supply chain coordination (contracts, information sharing and incentives, demand forecasting).
