This course will examine the main economic policy regimes and the underlying social, political and institutional dynamics in recent Turkish history in the context of a political-economic theoretical framework. The topics covered will include: positive political theory; political groups, interest groups and political influence; the political economy of elections; populism and redistributive politics; the statist era; the import substitution era; Türkiye during globalization; structural reforms and political, social and institutional constraints. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
