CONF 532 Managing Conflict in Organizations 3 Credits
This course examines the intersection between organizational behavior and human conflict. Organizations are basic units of society that require interdependence and effective conflict analysis and management skills. This class will enable students to develop conceptual understandings of the psychological and behavioral dynamics of interpersonal, intergroup, and systemic conflict in an organizational context. Students will also gain practical skills related to effective diagnosis and intervention in organizational systems and learn about the strategic prevention and management of conflict. A variety of didactic techniques will be used, including lecture, small group work, and fieldwork in an organizational setting.
