SEMINAR: Uncertainty principles for Fourier transform

Guest Sergey TikhonovCentre de Recerca Matemàtica (CRM) in Barcelona

Title: Uncertainty principles for Fourier transform (MATH, EE, ME, PHYS)

Date/Time: February 25, 2026, 12:40

Location: FENS G032

Abstract: The uncertainty principles forbid a function and its Fourier transform from simultaneously being too (or critically) localized. We  discuss several well-known and new Fourier  uncertainty principles including those by Hardy and Cowling-Price principle. The talk is intended for a general audience, no specialized background knowledge is required.
Joint work with Miquel Saucedo.
