POLS 596 European Security 3 Credits
This course provides an in depth analysis of the European security order from 1914 onwards. It covers basic theories of security and proceeds onto an investigation of World Wars and their impact on European security, as well as the institutional attempts of building a European security system. Particular emphasis will be on the institutional restructuring in the Cold War era and the transformation of the Cold war European security arrangements since 1989. The European security institutions, their evolution process and the European security architecture will be thoroughly analysed.
