The goal of this course is to introduce the
students to the different kinds, sizes, modes
and formats of art, design and cultural
institutions / venues and circles in Istanbul.
The team of students and the course
professor / TA visit different venues and meet
scholars, professionals, managers, directors
and various individuals who work in pertinent
fields. Through the excursions to be made physically
in the city and introductions, the students
gain a deeper understanding of the art, design, and
culture scene in Istanbul and its significance
in the global context. They will also have the
opportunity to engage in critical artistic, cultural,
managerial, social, economic discussions and
analyses of the institutions and individuals they encounter.
