POLS 594 Turkish Political Thought 3 Credits
A study of the foundations of political thought in the Ottoman empire and modern Turkey. The first part of the course focuses both on continuities with the earlier "Islamicate" discourse, and on the crucial break with tradition initiated during the Tanzimat.
