CONTENT

VA section: In this semester the students are expected to develop their own body of artistic works. Both collective and individualised studio critiques will continue throughout the semester. Issues of professional practice and presentation methods will be researched and reviewed. VCD section: Combining and diversifying design components within a final project such as web design, digital video or more traditional design venues, such as editorial design.

OBJECTIVE

VA SECTION:
One to one discussions are done on the works on progress. The accent is given on a personal vocabulary on their own artistic prodution in divers field of Visual Arts such as painting, sculture, installation, photo, video, sound. An exhibition situation of their work is considered. Archiving and porfolio preperation for their future ancounters are the objectives of this class.

VCD SECTION:
Fine-tuning of design skills, from research and conceptualisation to implementation and presentation, with a focus on creating portfolio-quality work that reflects the student?s individual design approach and skills.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • VA SECTION: To build a self formal and verbal vocabulary on its creations VCD SECTION: Tackling of broader, open briefs that require research, problem definition and content creation
  • VA SECTION: How to build an exhibition within a group VCD SECTION: Fine-tuning of design methodology and presentation skills.
  • VA SECTION: Art srategies in the field and the market ( galleries, collectors, art instutions, museums) VCD SECTION: Production of portfolio-quality work that reflects individual design approach and skills

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

2. Demonstrate knowledge of representational processes using visual as well as audial material as mediums of representation. 5

3. Show working knowledge of the process of transforming abstract/textual concepts into concrete, audio/visual forms. 3

4. Appreciate and express the cultural significance of art and understand its evolution and purposes. 3

5. Develop an awareness of compositional and organizational strategies for the effective deployment of formal elements of visual art. 4

6. Read visual texts with a deep knowledge of art history and theory and the ability of situating the content and form of the visual representation both in a historical and thematic context. 3

7. Employ necessary background knowledge regarding art administration in the body of museums and galleries. 4

8. Show a practical and technical command of materials and methods in one or more media of the visual arts. 4
