CONTENT

This course provides an overview of the law that affects the operation of business in Turkey and around the world. Students will be introduced to law in general and the differences among various legal systems. The specific legal concepts that influence the structure and conduct of global business will be explained and the corresponding provisions of Turkish commercial law will be highlighted. Emphasis will be placed on imparting practical knowledge using examples from real life.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • LO-1 To acquire the necessery skill for interpretation and application on the basic rules of national and international labor law. LO-2 To acquire the necessery knowledge on the rights and obligations resulting from an employment contract as well as to find a pasific solution related to labor conflicts between employer and the worker, working under an employment contract. LO-3 To acquire the capacity to organize the duration of work as provided by the legal rules of labor law. LO-4 To acquire the necessery knowledge on the termination and it?s procedure of an employment contract without a valid reason.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES


1. Understand the world, their country, their society, as well as themselves and have awareness of ethical problems, social rights, values and responsibility to the self and to others. 5

2. Understand different disciplines from natural and social sciences to mathematics and art, and develop interdisciplinary approaches in thinking and practice. 4

6. Pursue open minded inquiry and appreciate the importance of research as an input into management practice; thus, a.know how to access, interpret and analyze data and information by using current technologies b.use the results from analyses to make informed decisions

7. Use office softwares for written communication, presentation, and data analysis

8. Demonstrate awareness that business settings present different opportunities and challenges for managers due to environmental/contextual differences that arise in economic, political, cultural, legal-regulatory domains
