CONTENT

This is an advanced drawing course to improve skills of drawing by studying proportions of human body and anatomy based on observation of live models standing and in motion. There will be studies of the model alongside still life objects as well as utilising other drawing methods ranging from photographic-slide and video projections over the models. Different drawing materials and techniques such as computer enlargements and transformations will be used to enrich the students' individual perception and expression abilities.

OBJECTIVE

We will investigate body movement aestety expression under the life dance presentation and we will be observing frozen movements in stroboscopic light . Some drawing studies will be made from frozen movie frames -LCD projection will be very useful for this. We will investigate the face expression under actor performance too.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Upon the completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Sketch the body movements and the face expressions from the memory 2. Recognize the basic face expressions, such as happy, laughing, or unhappy, sorrow, pain from acting model and have a possibility to sketch them from memory 3. Recognize the body language elements when following the action (from sitting to laying- from knee to standing position-dancing together-walking-rotating ? jumping) from acting model and have a possibility to sketch from memory 4. Check up face expressions and body language tasks by animating drawn sketches 5. Create projects based on their memories and visions to introduce projects made also in front of art directors. 6. Have free hand drawing skills to continue in many fields- elements of stage design 7. Lead the actors when they create movies-compose the right elements of the advertisements when they use human in motion.
