In their fourth year of study, each Cultural Studies major will propose and complete a one-semester project related to her or his field of concentration. The form of this project will vary depending on the student's interests and concentration, ranging from textual, ethnographic or visual approaches and methodologies. All stages of the project must be approved by the student's project advisor.

- * Analyzing arguments, evaluating their assertions, assumptions and their proposed evidence; * Constructing coherent and independent arguments based on critical, comparative evaluation of different sources; * Drawing on multiple, relevant fields of study to analyze cultural phenomena; * Demonstrating effective informational retrieval, analysis, and oral and written communication skills; * Developing and carrying out an original research project.
