CONTENT

Introduction to methods and practices in industrial design, prototyping, and manufacturing; investigation of the product design process; Computer Aided Design systems Aided Manufacturing; Computer Aided Process Planning; Computer Integrated Manufacturing; rapid prototyping; process technology selection; design and control of production flow lines, work cells, and automated quality inspection.

OBJECTIVE

Introduce basic elements of integrated manufacturing systems. The students will gain both theoretical and practical background on different aspects of integrated manufacturing systems, particularly on computer aided manufacturing (CAM/CNC), process modelling, measurement and automation.

LEARNING OUTCOME

Students will have understanding of basic elements of integrated manufacturing systems.
Students will have understanding of CNC Machine Tools and their working principles
Students will gain ability to plan Processes and use Computer
Aided Manufacturing (CAM) systems

Students will have understanding of process modelling, measurement and automation.
Students will develop a basic understanding of the manufacturing processes used to make
products and apply them.
