CV : Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kaya, is a member of Natural Sciences and Engineering Faculty as well the director of Research and Graduate Policies at Sabancı Univerity. He graduated from Istanbul Pendik high school in 1984. Dr. KAYA has received his BSc and MSc degrees in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1988 and 1992, respectively. In 2000, he has received his PhD degree in the field of nanostructured ceramic composites from The University of Birmingham (England). He has worked as a research assistant at Yildiz Technical University (YTU), Istanbul from 1989-1995. He carried out his post doctoral studies at the University of Birmingham in 1999-2003 in the IRC (Interdisciplinary Research Centre) on nanomaterials (EU 5th Framework project). He has conducted joint studies on the development of high temperature materials with the Rolls-Royce company. Between 2003-2004.  He has served as a faculty member at Wolfson Centre for Materials Processing, Brunel University, Mechanical Engineering and also served as a board member at the London Materials Society from 2003 to 2006. He was promoted to Assistant Professor at YTU in 2004., Associate Professor in 2006 and Professor in 2012. He was one of the co-founder of Project Support Office and the Office of Technology Transfer and served as the coordinator from 2014 to 2016 at YTU. He was the board member of Central Laboratory, Technology Transfer Office Inc. and Professional Training Center of YTU also served as Advisor to the Rector.  He is the co-founder of a start-up company in YTU Technopark and currently holding 1 international and has 4 national patents. He has conducted tasks as a member of the Technopark Incubation Commission and the Patent Board at YTU. He has published 64 research articles in high impact factor SCI journals and written a international book chapter on nanomaterials deposition. Dr. KAYA has more than 70 papers presented at international conferences as well as 5 invited talks on nanomaterials. He has received more than 1200 citations on his SCI publications. He has acting as a referee in 23 SCI journals. He took part in organisation board of numerous national and international conferences.  He is the founder of Nanotechnology Laboratory at Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at YTU. He has visited many institutions to collaborate on IP,  commercialization and Technology Transfer.  He is currently collaborating with foreign researchers on multicomponent nanostructured materials, synthesis of nanotubes, nanostructured coatings, engineering ceramics, and fiber-reinforced ceramic composite materials reinforced with carbon nanotubes.
