A graduate of Bogazici University, Faculty of Business Administration, Güler Sabancı started her career at LASSA, Sabancı Group’s tire production company, in 1978. In 1985, she was appointed General Manager of KORDSA, the Group’s tire cord production company. In 1997, she assumed the office of President of Sabancı Holding’s Tire and Tire Reinforcement Materials Group. Güler Sabancı was elected to her current post in May 2004. Güler Sabancı holds many offices. She was the Founding President of Sabancı University and has been presiding over the Board of Trustees since its establishment in 1996. She also acts as Chairman of the Sakıp Sabancı Museum. She is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sabancı Foundation, which supports the social development of Turkey through various programs since it was founded in 1974. Güler Sabancı is the first female member of TUSIAD, Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association, as well as the first and only female member of European Round Table of Industrialists (ERT). Güler Sabanci also sits on the United Nations Global Compact Board, International Business Council of WEF and the External Advisory Board of MIT Energy Initiative. Güler Sabancı is also the recipient of numerous awards, including, among others, Belgian Commander's Cross of the Order of Leopold II, the Spanish Encomienda De Numero, France’s Legion d’Honneur, Austria’s Silbernes Ehrenkreuz der Republik Österreich, Raymond Georis Prize for Innovative Philanthropy, the Austrian Schumpeter Prize and the European School of Management and Technology’s Responsible Leadership Award. In 2011, she was named 2nd on the Financial Times’ list of the Top 50 Women in World Business and received the “Clinton Global Citizen Award” by the Clinton Global Initiative founded by former US President Bill Clinton, in recognition of her contribution to women and girls human rights and to the social, cultural and economic development of Turkey.
She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sakıp Sabancı Museum in Istanbul. She is a Member of the Executive Board of the Education Reform Initiative at Sabancı University. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Istanbul Policy Center, Sabancı University, Stiftung Mercator Initiative. She has been a regular participant of Yale Law School’s ongoing annual Middle East Legal Studies Seminar since 2004. She is one of the Advisors for the online network Free Speech Debate. She was a deputy member of the Board of Directors of the Hrant Dink Foundation in Istanbul between 2011-2015 and a member of the International Hrant Dink Awards Committee between 2011-2016. She was a Visiting Scholar and Senior Associate Member at St Antony’s College, Oxford University in 2005 and 2010. She was a member of the Advisory Board of Bucerius PhD Program in Migration Studies, Zeit Stiftung between 2010-2013. She was a member of an Advisory Group of Council of Europe and co-authored a report titled Living Together: Combining Diversity and Freedom in 21st Century Europe in 2011.
She is the author of various articles in Middle East Journal, Middle Eastern Politics, International Migration, Muslim World, Citizenship Studies, Critique: Critical Middle Eastern Studies, Middle East Law and Governance, Philosophy and Social Criticism.

Prof. Dr. Sadık ESENER
Director, Nano-Tumor Center, University of California at San Diego
Born in Ankara in 1956, Prof. Dr. Sadık Esener received his BS degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1979, and MS degree from Michigan University in 1981. Esener leads UCSD's OptoElectronic Computing Group, and is the director of the DARPA-funded multiuniversity Center for Chips with Heterogenously Integrated Photonics (CHIPS), the 3D-Opto-Electronic Stacked Processors industry/university consortium; and the Fast Readout Optical Storage (FROST) Industry consortium. He has authored more than 100 journal publications and 200 conference abstracts. Esener is a member of IEEE, OSA, and SPIE, and co-founded San Diego-based Nanogen, Optical Micro-Machines, Parallel Solutions, Genoptix, and Call/Recall Inc. He is an internationally known expert in photonics and opto-electronics, and he has been closely involved with five startup companies based on technology developed in his laboratories, and holds 15 patents in these areas. Esener is presently a professor at Nano Engineering, Electrical and Computer Department of UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering, Director of Nano-Tumor Center, and a member of Sabancı University Board of Trustees.

Mrs. Sabancı Dinçer is a member of the Institute of International Finance Board of Directors and Emerging Markets Advisory Board, Harvard University’s Global Advisory Council, Harvard Business School’s Global Leaders Circle, and the Harvard Business School’s Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia Advisory Board (MCAB). Suzan Sabancı Dinçer is also a member of the Global Board of Advisors at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Mrs. Sabancı Dinçer founded Akbank's International Advisory Board, a platform to discuss and evaluate global and local economic developments and their strategic implications for Turkey. She also sits on the Chatham House Panel of Senior Advisers. From 2010 to 2014, Mrs. Sabancı Dinçer served as the chairman of the Turkish-British Business Council for two terms. Mrs. Sabancı Dinçer is on the Board of Directors of the Global Relations Forum and a TÜSİAD (Turkish Industry and Business Association) member. She is also the Luxembourg Honorary Consul in Istanbul. In 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II awarded Mrs. Suzan Sabancı Dinçer the title of "Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE)" in recognition of her proactive and influential contributions to the development of Turkey-UK relations. In 2014, Mrs. Sabancı Dinçer was given the Order of Civil Merit (Orden del Mérito Civil) of the Kingdom of Spain by King Felipe VI of Spain for her contributions to the relations between the two countries and for her support to the cultural convergence. Suzan Sabancı Dinçer is strongly committed to social responsibility activities and assumes various positions in the fields of culture, education, the promotion of entrepreneurship and environmental protection: she is a member of the Board of Trustees of Sabancı University, as well as a founding member and board member of Endeavor Turkey and of the Advisory Board of Akbank Sanat. Mrs Sabancı Dinçer is a patron of Contemporary Istanbul. Under Mrs. Sabancı Dinçer’s stewardship, Akbank became the first deposit bank in Turkey to issue a GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) rated Sustainability Report. It also pioneered the Carbon Disclosure Project in Turkey. Suzan Sabancı Dinçer holds a BA in Finance from Richmond College in the UK and an MBA from Boston University in the USA. He started his career as Account Specialist in the Ministry of Finance where he worked for seven years. He then worked at Sabancı Holding for 20 years as Financial Counselor, Financial Consultant, Senior Financial Consultant, Financial Coordinator, Financial President respectively. During this time he was also the Board Member of I-Bimsa, Cignasa Insurance Company, BNP-AK Dresdner Financial Rental Company and Brisa, all of them belonging to Sabancı Holding. İ. Jan Nahum
Jan Nahum, who was born in 1950 in Ankara, had his high school education in Istanbul Robert College. Nahum had his university education in Royal College of Art (RCA) in London, in the department of “Automotive Design” which accepts only four students every year, and he won the “Penguin Design Award” of that year with his research on “Economic Vehicle”. He began his business life in Otosan as a Project Engineer in 1973. Within 9 years as from 1975, he had taken office as the head and coordinator of department design in R&D Center of Koç Holding. Nahum passed to Otokar in 1984, had taken office as the general director of the company for 10 years, and guided Otokar to have operations in manufacture of Land Rover and armored vehicles and in defense industry within this period. Afterwards, he had taken office as the general director in Tofaş, which was the partnership of Koç Holding and Fiat, for three years and initiated Tofaş’s major R&D activities and guided Tofaş to turn its organization into a Fiat manufacturing base by means of the Doblo project. Nahum became the executive director of the company between 1998 and 2002. Nahum had simultaneously held his positions as the deputy chairman in Tofaş and as the head of international business development department in FIAT S.P.A. until 2004. Nahum became a member of the board of directors of Karsan Otomotiv, which had activities within the body of Kıraça Holding, in 2004 and had taken office as the general director of Petrol Ofisi between 2005 and 2007. Nahum initiated the establishment of Hexagon Danışmanlık ve Ticaret A.Ş., which was a family company, in 2005 and he defined the business areas of Hexagon as automotive, renewable energy, new technologies and environment sectors which were closely related to the future of Turkey. Nahum currently holds his position as the chairman of Hexagon Danışmanlık ve Ticaret A.Ş. as well as his position as the executive director of Karsan as from 2008. Nahum, who is married and father of three children, has expertise in automotive, design, industrial engineering and energy.
Sinan Tara, born in 1958 at Istanbul, graduated in 1980 from the ETH Zürich, Department of Civil Engineering with Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc.), and completed thereafter in 1983 his Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree Program at the University of Stanford.(Read more...)

Since 1984, he acted as General Manager, Board Member and Managing Director and Executiveof Enka İnşaat ve Sanayi A.Ş., and since 1994, he acts as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Enka İnşaat ve Sanayi A.Ş. Besides these, Sinan Tara is a member of the High Advisory Council of the Turkish Industry & Business Association (TÜSİAD) and of the Turkish Contractors Association.

Her duties at Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley from 2001 to 2006 involved various leadership positions, including Associate Dean for Research, ,Chair of the Marketing Group, and Director of PhD programs. She also served as the Chair of Committee on Research at the University of California, Berkeley.
Erdem joined Stern School of Business, New York University (NYU) as the Leonard N. Stern Professor of Business and Professor of Marketing in 2006. At the Stern School, NYU she served as the co-chair of Center of Research in Digital Economy and chair of the Center for Measurable Marketing.
Tülin Erdem published numerous articles in the leading academic journals and won best paper awards while receiving important research grants, including two major grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Erdem also served as the Editor-oif-Chief of the Journal of Marketing Research between 2009=2012.
Erdem is currently the Leonard N. Stern Professor of Business and Professor of Marketing at the Stern School of Business, New York University.
